There are a variety of fantastic programs the CPAC organizes for the Cleveland families, for students and parents, from learning to lunches to lunges. Take a look at some of the things happening at Cleveland, and be sure to check back as there’s always something new in the pipeline.

LIGHTS UP MUSICAL THEATRE
Grades K-7
- When: Mondays 2:50 pm – 5 pm
- Dates: Oct 6 – Dec 8 (No class Oct 13)
- Location: Small Gym
- Cost: $365 + GST
Experience the joys and benefits of musical theatre by taking part in our afterschool programs led by our talented and experienced Lights Up Musical Theatre Schools staff. Sing, Dance, Act, Shine! This Fall, be our guest with Lights Up’s production of “Beauty and the Beast!” With a script crafted specifically for our afterschool program, students will step into a world of magic, beloved music, and enchanted characters! Performance for parents on last day of classes.

BrainSTEM LEARNING: STEM 360 ENGINEERING
Grades 2-6
- When: Tuesdays 2:50 pm – 4:20 pm (Early dismissal: 1:50 pm – 3:20 pm)
- Location: Small Gym
- Dates for Sept-Oct (5 weeks): Sept 23 – Oct 28 (no class on Sept 30, early dismissal Oct 21)

Why settle for just one type of engineering when you can try them all? In STEM 360, you’ll explore aerospace, civil, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and chemical engineering through hands-on projects. From building bridges to designing rockets, this course lets you test out multiple engineering disciplines to see which one sparks your passion. Ready to become the ultimate engineer?
BRAINIACS: BOARD GAMES & CHESS
Grades K-7
- When: Wednesdays 2:50 – 5 pm (Early dismissal days: 1:50 – 4 pm)
- Dates: Sept 24 – Dec 10 (Early dismissal days: Oct 22 & Oct 29)
- Location: Small gym
- Cost: $390 + GST
Come explore the power of strategic thinking through fun, engaging, hands-on and strategy-based board-games such as Chess, Mastermind, Blokus, Chinese Checkers, Match Madness, Codenames and many more. Enroll your child in this screen-free class that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving. In this adventure, students will learn the importance of planning, making thoughtful choices and understanding the reasons behind their decisions while playing games and having fun. The program will focus on teaching kids new board-games, strategic foundations, skill development and game strategy improvement. When playing chess, the focus will be on learning piece functions, openings, endgame tactics, variations and puzzles (depending on the skill level).
Farsi Afterschool Program - فارسی در مدرسه
Grades K-7
- When: Thursdays 3 – 5 pm
- Dates: Oct 2 – Dec 4
- Location: Small gym
- Cost: $330 + GST (Payment Plans and financial accommodations available)
Give your child the opportunity to learn Farsi in a fun and engaging way! This program is aligned with British Columbia’s official Farsi curriculum, focusing on essential reading and writing skills. Our interactive approach makes language learning exciting through arts, music, storytelling, and hands-on crafts.
Program is open to students of all backgrounds and with all abilities.
AFTER SCHOOL BASKETBALL
Grades 4-7
- When: Fridays 2:50 pm – 3:50 pm
- Dates: Sept 26 – Dec 12 (No class Oct 24 & 31)
- Location: Big Gym (Dec 12 – Small Gym)
- Cost: $160 + GST
North Shore Basketball Academy Coaches will teach participants skills and concepts required to have a solid foundation in basketball. These sessions will focus on skill-development through an active games based approach with league style 3v3 game-play and skill based challenges to prepare kids for upcoming school basketball and beyond. Every level is welcome and our focus as always is fitness and fun align with improving skills. Every participant will receive a North Shore Basketball Academy T-shirt.
JIU-JITSU ANTI-BULLYING TRAINING
Grades K-7
- When: Tuesdays 2:50 pm – 4:50 pm (early dismissal days, 1:50 pm – 3:50 pm)
- Dates: Sept 16 – Dec 16
- Location: St. Catherine’s Anglican Church gymnasium (children will be met at the school by our Coaches, walked to the church, and can bepicked up there)

Our anti-bullying Jiu Jitsu program takes a holistic approach to children’s personal development by combining Jiu Jitsu and physical fitness with mental discipline, self-esteem, community building, and critical thinking. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is also a fantastic way to teach coordination, gross and fine motor skills, balance, pattern recognition, and strategy. Students will learn how to defend themselves against bullying without using strikes; focusing on Jiu Jitsu techniques that allow them to control and neutralize their opponent while promoting confidence, problem-solving skills, non violent conflict resolution, and allyship.

ARTMANIA @ St. Catherine's Church
Ages 6-12

Cleveland Art Lab If your child loves to imagine, invent, and explore the world of art—this class is for them! We’re excited to share that our Friday after-school art class will now be held in the beautiful art studio at St. Catherine’s Church (right next to the Cleveland after-school daycare). Welcome to your own after-school art club! A creative space to imagine, build, and make art with friends. From sculpture to design projects, each week brings new materials, fresh ideas, and the freedom to create something truly your own. From ongoing projects to brand-new creations, this art club is your space to explore, design, and play with art.Pick Up Details: Our instructors will walk the children from Cleveland Elementary to St. Catherine’s Church. Pick-up will be at 5:00 pm from the Sunshine Room inside the church, right beside Cleveland daycare.
