There are a variety of fantastic programs the CPAC organizes for the Cleveland families, for students and parents, from learning to lunches to lunges. Take a look at some of the things happening at Cleveland, and be sure to check back as there’s always something new in the pipeline.

Sportball | Multisport (Grades K-3; 5-9 year olds)
- When: Thursdays 2:50-3:50
- Dates: Oct 3 – Dec 12 (No class Oct 31)
- Location: Cleveland Small Gym
- Cost: $180 plus GST ($18 per class)
Sportball’s Multisport classes focus on the basic skills common to all sports, like balance, coordination, and timing in a fun, supportive, non-competitive environment. Each class focuses on one of eight different sports: hockey, soccer, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, golf and tennis.
Jr. Skills Basketball - Gr. 2-4
- When: Fridays 2:50 – 3:50 pm
- Dates: Sept 20- Dec 14 (No sessions oct 25th, Nov 1st, Dec 6)
- Location: Cleveland Big Gym
- Cost: $160+GST
North Shore Basketball Academy Coaches will teach participants skills and concepts required to have a solid foundation in the game of basketball. Sessions will progressively take participants through a series of fun drills and games that work on fundamentals like dribbling, passing and shooting along with daily games and competitions. Throughout the program, participants will learn about core life-skills like positivity, sportsmanship and teamwork. Each participant receives an NSBA T-Shirt.
Artmania: Nature Art & Emily Carr (K-7)
- When: Wednesdays 2:50 – 4:50 pm
- Dates: Sept 25 – Dec 18th
- Location: Cleveland Classroom 135
- Cost: $520, includes gst (2 payment options now available)
Enter the world of this iconic west coast artist and create naturecoast
nature themed art.
Young artists will explore Emily Carr’s passion for nature through painting,
drawing, and sculpting their own experiences of the natural world.
Learn all about line, form, shape and texture and discover how Emily Carr
used the colours of Nature to
recreate the world around her.

Artmania’s Eco-Style: Upcycle Your Clothes & Design Tees (1-7)
- When: Fridays 2:50 – 4:50pm
- Dates: Sept 27 – December 20 – no class oct 25, Nov 1 and Dec 6

- Cost: $480 + GST ( 2 payment options now available)
Dive into the vibrant world of upcycling with Artmania’s innovative class
created by our founder, Mary Hay—a seasoned textile designer and
painter. Students will ignite their creativity by transforming old garments into
fresh, exciting designs. Through engaging activities like printmaking, mono-
printing, and silk screening, they’ll explore the art of embellishing t-shirts
with unique, sustainable flair. This hands-on experience not only fosters
artistic expression but also promotes eco-friendly practices. Join us and
witness your child’s imagination take flight!

Farsi Afterschool Program - فارسی در مدرسه (gr 1-7)

The Farsi afterschool program program is aligned with the official Farsi curriculum of British Columbia, emphasizing core skills like reading and writing. What sets us apart is our commitment to making learning enjoyable. Through arts, music, and hands-on crafts, we create an interactive and engaging environment where students can have fun while mastering Farsi.

LIGHTS UP MUSICAL THEATRE AFTERSCHOOL AT CLEVELAND ELEMENTARY (All Grades)
- When: Monday 2:50 – 5:00pm

Shine! This Fall we will be putting on a musical based on the “Scooby Doo” cartoons and series.
Join the Mystery Inc. Gang and solve the mystery of the spooky theme park with us!

Brainiacs: Learning through strategy games (Grade 2-7)
- When: Monday 2:50 – 4:50pm
- Dates: Sept 23- Dec 16 (no class Sept 30, Oct 14, Nov 11)
- Location: Cleveland Library
- Cost: $375 + GST
Come explore the power of strategic thinking through fun, engaging, hands-on and strategy-based board games and card games. Through guided gameplay, children will gain confidence, learn to navigate wins and losses and develop long-term strategic mindsets. Enroll your child in this screen-free class that focuses entirely on in-person games that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. In this adventure, students will learn the importance of planning, making thoughtful choices and understanding the reasons behind their decisions while playing games and having fun.

Anti-Bullying Jiu-Jitsu Training for Kids (K-7)
- When: Wed 2:50 – 4:30pm (early dismissal days 1:50 – 3:30)
- Dates: Sept 25 – Dec 18th (early dismissal days Sept 25, Oct 9, Oct 30)
- Location: Small Gym
- Cost: $364 +GST ($382.20)
Our anti-bullying Jiu-Jitsu program takes a holistic approach to children’s personal development by combining Jiu Jitsu and physical fitness with mental discipline, self-esteem, community building, and critical thinking. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is also a fantastic way to teach coordination, gross and fine motor skills, balance, pattern recognition, and strategy. Students will learn how to defend themselves against bullying without using strikes; focusing on Jiu Jitsu techniques that allow them to control and neutralize their opponent while promoting confidence, problem-solving skills, non-violent conflict resolution, and allyship.

Fall-Little Brains-Robotics Engineering Lv 1 & 2 (13 weeks)
- When: Tuesdays 2:50 – 3:50 pm
- Dates: Sept 24, Oct 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Nov 5, 12, 19, 26, Dec 3, 10, 17
- Location: Cleveland Library
- Cost: $459.94 + 5% GST or $35.38+5% GST/1 hr for 13 sessions (Materials, Instruction, and School District Library facilities rental included.)
The little brains will discover what is behind a robot, the design
possibilities, the materials, mechanical simple machines used to build,
what software is, and the programming languages used to create the robot
instructions. Under the STEM Education programs, the leadership of our
instructors and assistants, students use the VEX 123 hardware and GUI
programming languages on computers to build their robotic animals,
machines, and toys. They will code the algorithms to make their robots
function and innovate by improving their programs or physical robot
design.
