There are a variety of fantastic programs the CPAC organizes for the Cleveland families, for students and parents, from learning to lunches to lunges. Take a look at some of the things happening at Cleveland, and be sure to check back as there’s always something new in the pipeline.

Lunch - Chess Club (gr 1-7)

  • When: Wednesdays Lunch hours
  • Dates: April 9 – June 18th
  • Location: Cleveland library
  • Cost: $110 e-transfer to chan_james17@hotmail.com include name and grade

You are invited to explore the strategic world of chess at this exclusive chess club. This club includes fundamentals for beginners along with strategies for the more advanced players. Chess Club players will have the opportunity to improve their skills by playing against other player of various levels.

This class accepts beginners and experienced players alike from ages 6-11

Lunchtime Circus Workshop (gr 1-5)

  • When: Thursdays Lunch time 12-12:55
  • Dates: April 3rd – June 19th
  • Location: Small Gym
  • Cost: $222

The Vancouver Circus School is excited to offer engaging circus workshops for Cleveland Elementary students, fostering physical literacy through fun and skill-building activities. Held on Thursdays during lunch, these sessions focus on balance, coordination, and creative expression using props such as juggling balls, flowersticks, spinning plates, and balance equipment. Students will develop confidence, focus, and motor skills in a dynamic and supportive environment that encourages exploration and movement.

Sportball | Multisport (Grades K-3; 5-9 year olds)

  • When: Thursdays 2:50-3:50
  • Dates: April 17 – Jun 19 (10 weeks)
  • Location: Cleveland Small Gym
  • Cost: $180 plus GST 

Sportball’s Multisport classes focus on the basic skills common to all sports, like balance, coordination, and timing in a fun, supportive, non-competitive environment. Each class focuses on one of eight different sports: hockey, soccer, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, golf and tennis.

Registration will open on Mon, December 16th at 9:30 am

Anyone who clicks the link before then will be able to see the program and join a “waitlist”. This “waitlist” doesn’t reserve them a spot in the program, but our team will send anyone on the “waitlist” an email about when registration opens closer to the date.

Jr. Skills Basketball - Gr. 2-4

  • When: Fridays 2:50 – 3:50 pm
  • Dates: April 11 – June 20 (No Session Good Friday)
  • Location: Cleveland Big Gym
  • Cost: $160+GST

North Shore Basketball Academy Coaches will teach participants skills and concepts required to have a solid foundation in the game of basketball. Sessions will progressively take participants through a series of fun drills and games that work on fundamentals like dribbling, passing and shooting along with daily games and competitions. Throughout the program, participants will learn about core life-skills like positivity, sportsmanship and teamwork. Each participant receives an NSBA T-Shirt.

ARTMANIA CREATIVE KIDS CLUB AT CLEVELAND (K-7)

  • When: Wednesdays 2:50 – 4:50 pm
  • Dates: April 9 – June 18th, April 30, 1:50 – 3:50pm
  • Location: Cleveland Classroom 135
  • Cost: $440,

Dive into a world of creativity! Each session of Creative Kids Club brings exciting new art projects filled with fun and  fresh techniques in painting, drawing, and sculpture.  

Guided by our skilled artists and educators, kids will explore self-expression in a dynamic, ever-evolving artistic  journey. Whether experimenting with bold colors, unique textures, or imaginative designs, young artists will develop their skills while having a blast in a  supportive and inspiring environment. ARTMANIA CREATIVE CITIES: DESIGNING THROUGH ART & IMAGINATION (1-7)

  • When: Fridays 2:50 – 4:50pm,

At Artmania Afterschool, students will dive into the exciting world of architecture and design! Through art,  sculpture, and interactive play, kids will explore architectural concepts while creating stunning cities and  structures. Perfect for young creatives, this program develops imagination, problem-solving skills, and teamwork— all while having fun! 

 WHAT’S INCLUDED? 

  • Hands-on projects: drawings, mini sculptures, and collaborative models 
  • Discover how art and design shape our communities while exploring compelling videos  that Inspire creativity and innovative thinking. 
  • interactive play using Artmania’s architecture and engineering games. 
  • Foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love for design.

Farsi Afterschool Program - فارسی در مدرسه (gr K-7)

 

When: Tuesdays, 3:00 – 5:00 PM
Dates: April 15 – June 17
Location: Room 130
Cost: $330 for 10 sessions (or two instalments of $180 – Financial Accommodations Available)
Who: Open to Grades K -7 – all backgrounds and Farsi levels are welcome!

Give your child the opportunity to learn Farsi in a fun and engaging way! Our Farsi After-School Program focusing on essential skills like reading and writing. What makes our program unique is our interactive approach—we bring language learning to life through arts, music, and hands-on crafts, creating a dynamic and enjoyable experience for students.

LIGHTS UP MUSICAL THEATRE AFTERSCHOOL AT CLEVELAND ELEMENTARY (All Grades)

  • When: Monday 2:50 – 5:00pm
  • DATES: APR 7 – JUNE 16
  • Location: Small Gym
  • COST: $365 + GST

Sing. Dance. Act. Shine! At Lights Up Afterschool, your child can experience the joys and benefits of musical theatre by taking part in our afterschool programs led by our talented and experienced Lights Up Musical Theatre Schools’ staff. These classes are a unique introduction to our weekend musical theatre programs and provide students with an enriching, rewarding, and most of all, fun afterschool activity right at the bell! 

SPRING SHOW: MAGIC SCHOOL BUS!

Seat belts, everyone! This Spring, we will be putting on a musical performance of “Magic School Bus”, created for our afterschool students! Inspired by the series of the same name, students will sing, dance, and act on a field trip through space with everyone’s favourite teacher, Ms. Frizzle!

Students will be supervised from dismissal. No need to pick up your child until 5pm! 

Performance on the last day of classes for friends and family!

Brainiacs: Learning through strategy games (Grade 1-7)

  • When: Monday 2:50 – 4:50pm
  • Dates: Apr 7, Apr 14, Apr 28, May 12, May 26, Jun 2, Jun 9, Jun 16. No class Apr 21, May 5, May 19
  • Location: Cleveland Library
  • Cost: $320 + GST = $336 *For returning Brainiacs students (from Fall 2024), there will be a discounted rate automatically applied.

Come explore the power of strategic thinking through fun, engaging, hands-on and strategy-based board-games such as Mastermind, Blokus, Chinese Checkers, Match Madness, Chess, Codenames and many more. Enroll your child in this screen-free class that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving. In this adventure, students will learn the importance of planning, making thoughtful choices and understanding the reasons behind their decisions while playing games and having fun. The program will focus on teaching kids new board-games, strategic foundations, skill development and game strategy improvement. When playing chess, the focus will be on learning piece functions, openings, endgame tactics, variations and puzzles (depending on the skill level).

Anti-Bullying Jiu-Jitsu Training for Kids (K-7)

  • When: Wed 2:50 – 4:50pm (early dismissal days 1:50 – 3:50)
  • Dates: Apr 9 – Jun 18 (early dismissal day Apr 30)
  • Location: Small Gym
  • Cost: $363 ($381.15 with GST)

Our anti-bullying Jiu-Jitsu program takes a holistic approach to children’s personal development by combining Jiu Jitsu and physical fitness with mental discipline, self-esteem, community building, and critical thinking.  Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is also a fantastic way to teach coordination, gross and fine motor skills, balance, pattern recognition, and strategy.  Students will learn how to defend themselves against bullying without using strikes; focusing on Jiu Jitsu techniques that allow them to control and neutralize their opponent while promoting confidence, problem-solving skills, non-violent conflict resolution, and allyship.

Fall-Little Brains-Robotics Engineering Lv 1 & 2

  • When: Tuesdays 2:50 – 3:50 pm 
  • Dates: Apr 8 – Jun 10

Ever dreamt of building your own robot? In this exciting Robotics course, you’ll get to design, build, and program your very own robots! Using VEX 123 hardware and GUI programming languages, you’ll explore how robots move, think, and perform tasks. You’ll learn about mechanical design, robotic systems, and even coding, while creating robots that can do everything from solving puzzles to interacting with their environment. Ready to bring your creations to life and solve fun challenges? Let’s get robotic!
